What is a Non-surgical Brow Lift?
A brow lift is a subtle yet effective way to change the shape and/or position of the eyebrows. By giving the brow a lift, it can make a change to the overall expression or youthfulness of the face. A simple and quick way to get this result is by using a small amount of anti-wrinkle injections to add an arch and provide a lift to the brow.
How is it done?
There are certain muscles that tend to pull the eyebrows down. With antiwrinkle treatment, a small amount of product can be injected just under the eyebrow with a small needle into the muscle we call orbicularis oculi. By careful placement, the eyebrows are released from the downward pull and the forehead muscle that we refer to as the frontalis is left to lift the eyebrows up. This treatment lifts the eyebrow and gives the eye a more open appearance. We often combine this with treating the frown muscles between the eyebrows for a synergistic effect, with the benefit of a subtle lift of the central eyebrows, while wiping out any frown lines in the process.
Who should have this done?
We see clients of all ages for a brow lift. Sometimes genetics can give a younger person a particularly heavy or flat shaped brow, so we can improve the shape and elevation. This is also a perfect treatment to try assist in facial asymmetry, for those who have uneven brows. As we age our skin tends to lose its elasticity and fullness and head downward with gravity, so more mature clients can achieve changes to the brow to look more elevated and similar to their younger selves. A non-surgical Brow Lift is a perfect way to give your brow a subtle lift without having surgery. A common surgery for upper eyelid and brow heaviness is referred to as blepharoplasty. If you are not an ideal candidate for surgery, or not severe enough yet for a surgical fix, then you can try the brow lift with antiwrinkle injections.
How long does it take/last?
The procedure takes only a few minutes, but we will consult with you on your needs and take a full medical history first. Antiwrinkle injections tend to last 3-4 months, with some benefits up to 6 months. Regular treatments are recommended.
