Treatments
You will have a consultation with one of our female doctors who will assess your health concerns and discuss the FemTouch procedure.
On the day of the treatment the FemTouch probe is inserted vaginally and over a 5-10 minute treatment applies laser beams to the lining/mucosa of the vagina in a fractional ablative pattern. The treatment is not particularly painful, only a slight discomfort may be felt.
The fractional laser treats vaginal atrophy by thickening the lining and regenerating the tissue to function better. Most patients see a decrease in stress urinary incontinence symptoms also.
Laser in this area sounds like it could really hurt! But the good news is that FemTouch laser is not particularly painful. Patients are aware of the feeling of the probe being inserted but don’t particularly feel the laser pulses until the laser reaches the external areas. If uncomfortable here a numbing cream can be applied.
The treatment course is 3 sessions spaced 1 month apart.
Studies have shown long lasting results for patients who have 3 sessions then repeat a single maintenance session yearly.
