BROTOX

Out with friends recently I was asked about my aesthetic work and the conversation turned to the topic of “Brotox”.

The blokes in our dinner party were very surprised to hear how many males are having cosmetic treatments, but they were definitely more interested than surprised, that my bloke had “let me” do some Brotox on him too.

The conversation made me realised that in general, men who have cosmetic procedures are not so much unwilling to share this information with their mates, but simply the general population of males don’t have enough information available to them, which relates to men.

So boys, this one is for you.

What is “Brotox”?

It’s the umbrella word amalgamating Brother and Botulinum Toxin Type A (used in anti-wrinkle injections), but it also includes dermal fillers (the gel like substance used to sculpt features and erase lines and wrinkles too).

Why do men get “Brotox”?

Looking younger for job opportunities, being better looking and looking less angry or less tired are the main reasons I hear.

Where do most men get Brotox?

Most men want to reduce the lines around their eyes, between their eyebrows and on the forehead. Facial features that men like enhanced are chins, jaws, brows, mouths and cheekbones.

Won’t people know I’ve had something done?

Without looking unnatural we can smooth away lines, sharpen up a strong jaw line, chisel those cheekbones and balance facial features.

Our medical clinic offers a range of services from skin cancer checks, vein treatments, tattoo removal and a broad range of dermal medical treatments, so we always have a good balance of both male and female patients here. Our reception staff are discreet and professional so you can rest assured your treatment will remain confidential and your privacy is our priority.

Shouldn’t men just be men and not worry about how they look?

Really; this old chestnut?

Being a man (or a woman- yes it’s 2016) is a state of mind. We’ve come a long way since tethering our horses outside the saloon, and my patients who are farmers, mechanics, IT specialists, CEOs, restaurateurs, stock-men, lawyers, miners and tradesmen, to name a few, will get a laugh at this.

What’s the difference between men’s and women’s treatments?

While the products used are the same, the aesthetic outcomes are different as men typically look better with sharper angles to masculinise features, while women prefer softer contours to feminise features. Every patient is different and we will assess and discuss their look with an individually designed treatment plan well before treatment starts, so you understand the expected result well in advance.
